Well yesterday, Snapchat released a series of filters that helps save lives. Wait, how does that work? Well I'm glad you asked.
Whenever one of these filters are used, $3 will be donated by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (RED). Just that little amount can provide up to 10 days of life-saving treatment for people suffering from the disease in the sub-Saharan Africa. It is the most infected region in the world, and the World Health Organization estimates that over 25 million people live with HIV/AIDS there.
(RED), which is part of the ONE Campaign, is an organization that aims to eliminate new HIV infections, and yesterday's campaign with Snapchat allowed you to contribute in a really easy and fun way. And since we are pretty much on Snapchat all day long anyway, what better way is it to show support?
Snapchat was able to raise up to $3 million to help this cause!
Did you contribute?
xoxo, Kaila
I contributed, and I didn't even know about snapchat donating $3 for every pic with this filter, I deff would have sent more!
