That is the one question that makes you scared yet curious about what you are about to be told next. Is it life changing? Is it no big deal? WHAT IS IT?
Well luckily for Brett, a 20-year-old, he didn't have this problem.
On November 19, Brett's Dad was just scrolling through his friend's Snapchat stories when he came across his son's in which Brett called himself a faggot. (I don't actually like using that term but he said it, not me!) This resulted in his father being curious if he was, indeed, gay.
On Brett's 20th birthday, he finally told his conservative father that we was gay and his father replied with, "Happy Birthday Son, I Love You more than you will ever know and I am soo proud of you, I am Lucky to have a son like you. Brett, I Love You more today than yesterday, we will talk soon."
When Brett posted this picture on Reddit of him and his father's conversation, users replied with positive comments. One user said, "Congrats! That's so heart-warming. I hope my dad can react the same way. I'm coming out next Friday to him," and another saying, "That last one is probably the best response any of us can ever hope for."
This made me cry. I wish every parent reacted like this. He's a really lucky guy.
