Have you ever had one of those days when you're just like Damn, I feel good. Well for Erik, he is struggling to completely feel this way.


Erik, 17, has been struggling for the past two-and-a-half years to find acceptance from his family because he made a life changing decision. He's trans. Erik moved out of his family's home and was excited to fully transition to his true self when he was faced with a... busty boundary. He hopes to surgically remove his breast tissue but the difficult part is that this is a $9,000 surgery for chest reconstruction. Because Erik had a third of his money, he turned to the internet to crowdfund $6,000. When he posted about his cause on the crowdfunding site Chuffed in August, he was able to raise $4,500. As of now, there is 14 hours left to reach his goal.

"I'm very excited, sort of scared, nervous, and happy at the same time," he says. "I can't wait until I could go swimming again and feel more comfortable hanging out with my classmates. Most importantly, I can't wait until I could see more of myself reflected in the mirror."
